Less than a year ago, MacMall opened a retail store (one of their first?) not to far from me, in Huntington Beach, CA.

I had cause to drop in there about six months ago. The place was large, immaculate and very Apple-store-like, and the employees were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it was virtually empty. Besides myself and a friend, and maybe eight to ten employees, there were maybe three other people (two of which looked like they were friends hanging out with some of the employees) in the store. To make matters worse, it was the middle of a Saturday afternoon.

I was kinda surprised to see the place so empty, and I hope it was just due to the store not yet being widely known. If that situation hasn’t changed or, at least, doesn’t change some time in the not-to-distant future, I would bet that the store will meet its end rather prematurely.
