MacSpeech Dictate 1.5 Gets New Vocabulary Editor, Improves Accuracy

MacSpeech announced the immediate availability of MacSpeech Dictate 1.5 on Thursday. The update for the speech recognition application added a new vocabulary editor and improved overall speech recognition accuracy.

Version 1.5 added a new vocabulary editor that lets users add, delete, manage and train words, as well a customize spacing and capitalization for specific words. The update also added new profile options for Inland North American, Southern North American, and Latino North American accents.

The update improved compatibility with Microsoft Word, added the top 100 Web sites to the "Jump To" command options, added the ability capture Phrase Training information before quitting, updated the user manual, and more.

MacSpeech Dictate requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or higher. It is priced starting at US$199, and upgrades from version 1.3 and earlier cost $54.95.
