MarkdownMail Brings HTML Email to the iPhone

· by · Product News

Second Gear Software released MarkdownMail for the iPhone and iPod touch on Tuesday. The app lets users create email messages that include stylized text using John Gruber’s Markdown markup language.

MarkdownMail converts email messages with Markdown code to HTML before sending, lets users preview messages, includes a built-in syntax guide, and supports TextExpander touch, too.

The Markdown language lets users include plain text characters in their messages that can be converted to HTML. If the characters aren’t converted to HTML, the original message is still readable without needing to understand any of the code characters.

MarkdownMail is priced at US$1.99 and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
