metaobject has released a new version of TextLightning, bringing it to version 3.0. TextLightning is a PDF to RTF converter designed for document compression. The latest release features speed enhancements and improved encryption support. According to metaobjects:
metaobject releases version 3.0 of TextLightning, the convenient PDF to Rich Text Filter.
Version 3.0 features support for most encrypted files using an updated EGOS engine, as well as better font substitution. Performance has been improved both by making the conversion process 50% to 100% faster, but also by eliminating the need to re-launch the filter on each invocation. This means that conversion can be almost instantaneous. At the same time, this new version acts more like a regular Mac OS X application.
