Microsoft Brings Zune HD Support to the Mac

· by · Product News

Microsoft updated its Windows Phone 7 Connector app for the Mac with support for its Zune HD media player on Tuesday. The update marks the first time Microsoft has offered official Zune support for Mac OS X users.

Windows Phone 7 Connect for the Mac

Windows Phone 7 Connector lets Mac users sync iTunes content and photos with Windows Phone 7 devices or the Zune HD, uploads photos to iPhoto, supports browsing the content of connected devices, and manages software updates for devices. The application doesn’t, however, sync calendars and contacts.

Windows Phone 7 is free and available through Apple’s new Mac App Store — another first for Microsoft.

An exercise in futility.

In all honestly, how many Mac users would even consider a Zune? Talk about a waste of effort. I mean, why did they even bother?

Maybe the move will encourage more Mac users to buy Zunes.

Or encourage Zune owners to buy Macs??

Just checked the calender. Nope. It’s not the first of April.

I think M$ is serious. Someone should be watching SB’s health very carefully. Specifically, his brain.

Sir Harry, you have a very subtle sense of humour.

Sir Harry, you have a very subtle sense of humour.

As President Obama recently said, bring a scalpel not a machete smile

In good humor there is a grain of truth. From what I understand the Zune is not a bad device. However as a Mac user why would I buy a Zune if it was a pain in the butt to synch. DocRoss also has a point; A Windows using Zune owner may want to move to the Mac.

I own a Mac and two Zunes.  I prefer OS X over Windows, and I think the Zune is a superior music player.  That being said, neither of my Zunes are HD’s.  Damn.

How does he keep his job?

Would YOU volunteer to go into Balmer’s office and tell him he’s fired ?

I’m not that brave…...

I recently had my pc stolen but my zune was in my pocket. So now the bookstore my laptop was stolen from is offering me a mac to replace my pc. I’m ecstatic to hear MS is launching a way for the HD to work with the mac, otherwise, I’d be screwed.
