Microsoft Office 2008 12.2.3 Addresses Security Flaws

Microsoft released Office 2008 12.2.3 for Mac users on Tuesday. The update for the office application suite pushes fixes that Microsoft is calling critical, including patches for security-related flaws.

The Office updater notes state "This update contains several improvements to enhance stability, compatibility, and performance. In addition, this update includes fixes for vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code."

Additional information about the update will be available at the Microsoft Web site, but isn't yet online.

Microsoft Office 2008 12.2.3 is a 217.7MB and is available through the Microsoft AutoUpdate application.
