Mobily Adding iPhone Tethering Support in February

· by · News

Saudi Arabia iPhone users are about to get a feature that U.S. customers are still waiting for: Tethering. Medhat Amer, Mobily's CIO, made the announcement via Twitter.

"Good news for iPhone fans in Saudi Arabia. Was just told that tethering is coming in February!" Mr. Amer said on Twitter.

Tethering is a feature that lets your mobile phone share its wireless data connection with your computer. Apple introduced tethering support in iPhone OS 3.0, but many cell service providers failed to support the feature -- including Mobily and AT&T.

Mr. Amer didn't say when in February subscribers can expect to see iPhone tethering support to begin.

[Thanks to SaudiMac for the heads up.]
