Navfree Offers Free iPhone Turn-by-turn Navigation

· by · Product News

Navmii’s Navfree USA hit Apple’s App Store just a few days ago bringing with it a free alternative to the current selection of iPhone-based turn-by-turn GPS navigation apps.

Navfree USA is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and takes advantage of the OpenStreetMap project for in-app maps, spoken turn-by-turn directions, offers 3D and 3D views, pedestrian and driving routes, in-app Google searches, and more.

Since the app relies on OpenStreetMap project, there’s a chance users may encounter map errors. The project, however, is community based, so users can report any errors they encounter.

Navfree USA is free and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.

You forgot to mention its 2GB in size and the initial reviews are horrifying. Other than that, great story kid.

I’d like to see a proper review of this software on the iPod Touch—and contrasted with any competing iPod Touch software, if any.
