Netflix Updates iOS App With New UI, New Countries

· by · News

Netflix updated its universal iOS app to version 2.0 Wednesday morning, bringing a new interface to the iPad version of the app. Today’s release also marks the availability of the streaming service in Latin America and addresses stability issues.

Netflix 2.0

The New UI Displays Twice as Much Content as Before.

iOS is not the first platform to see the redesigned Netflix experience; the company first debuted the new look on Android Tablets in November. The interface now displays twice as much content as before, allowing consumers to more easily discover new television shows and movies.

Of note, Netflix’s expansion into Latin America comes hot on the heels of Apple’s expansion of its iTunes Store and Apple TV offerings into the same region.

The Netflix app requires iOS 5 and is a free download but requires a Netflix subscription to view content.
