Capcom has revived its classic arcade game Ghosts 'n' Goblins for a new version, Gold Knights, now available at the App Store, along with three other new releases and an update to an existing one.
Gold Knights (US$2.99) is a 3D platformer in which players take the role of Arthur or Sir Lancelot, each with unique abilities, as they travel the Ghoul Realm's six stages saving missing maidens and defeating various demonic and undead monsters. Downloadable content unlocks various power-ups.
In Aboveground Systems's Da Vinci's Secret Machines ($1.99), players use hydraulic fans, mirrors, balls, ramps, and other items to solve 30 puzzles based on the famous artist's sketches. It features a realistic physics engine, in-game achievements, and a global leader board.
Outer Empires ($1.99, plus subscription fee) is an online-only MMO that accesses the same persistent universe as the browser-based and Facebook game of the same name. It features more than 20,000 star systems for players to explore, colonize, and control as they vie for political and military supremacy of the galaxy.
In G5 Entertainment's strategy game Judgment Day of War ($0.99), players undertake 33 missions set in three Middle Eastern historical campaigns, using troops, tanks, helicopters, and more, including 15 available bonuses, to win various battles. An Endless Survival mode is also included.
Finally, PopCap has released a free "Blitz" update for Bejeweled 2, allowing players to access the same Bejeweled Blitz game previously found only on Facebook. It features multipliers, laser gems, star medals, real-time gem swapping, and score posting on players' Facebook profiles.
