News Corp to Launch iPad News Paper in January

· by · Rumor

News Corp is apparently planning to launch its iPad-specific “The Daily” digital newspaper the week of January 17. According to AllThingsD, word of the launch comes from unnamed insider sources, and the digital news paper will take advantage of a new push subscription feature to auto-bill subscribers.

The iPad to get News Corp’s The Daily in January

The Daily is expected to offer daily news content, articles with video and other multimedia elements, and some type of 3D content as well. Subscribers will be able to take advantage of a new feature Apple has designed that handles weekly or monthly auto-billing, too.

The Daily is expected to cost US$0.99 a week and will include daily news updates.

Since News Corp and Apple aren’t confirming any details yet, word of the January launch should be treated as a rumor for now.
