NightCap extends the exposure time from the iPhone’s default 1/20 second up to a full second, allowing more light to reach the camera’s photo sensors. It includes an automatic mode that adjusts exposure and focus on the fly, a manual mode with control over exposure time, and a photo review mode.

Images are saved to the iPhone’s camera roll and include metadata and GPS tagging.

NightCap is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the fourth generation iPod touch, and requires iOS 5 or higher. It is priced at US$0.99 and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
