nova media Announces HSDPA/3G UMTS USB Modem

nova media announced its new GlobeSurfer ICON 7.2 Ready USB modem for the Mac on Friday. The modem is compatible with HSDPA and 3G UMTS wireless data services with connection speeds up to 7.2 Mb/s. In areas where HSDPA and 3G UMTS are not available, it will fall back to EDGE and GRPS networks making it usable world wide.

The GlobeSurfer ICON 7.2 Ready connects to your Mac via USB, and includes nova mediais launch2net Internet connection application. The modem is priced at €299 (about US$405.47), and will be available at the end of May.
