O2 to Carry iPhone 4 in UK

· by · News

O2 will carry the new iPhone 4 in the U.K. on June 24, and the cell service provider plans to offer a special upgrade promotion to customers that want to move to Apple’s newest combination iPod and smartphone.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the next generation iPhone during his keynote presentation at the company’s World Wide Developer Conference in San Francisco on Monday.

The new iPhone is over 20 percent thinner than the iPhone 3GS, includes an A4 processor and substantially higher resolution display, 5 megapixel camera along with a front-facing camera, built-in Flash, quad-band support, 802.11n Wi-Fi networking, and more. It will be available on June 24 in several countries and Apple will begin accepting pre-orders on June 15.

O2 hasn’t announced yet what kind of incentives its upgrade promotion will include.
