OOTP Developments on Friday announced that the latest version of its baseball simulation for the Mac, Out of the Park Baseball (OOTP) 11, is now available for preorder at US$15 off the launch price; those who preorder it will also get the game two days before its official release in April. The game features updated rosters for all Major League Baseball teams, along with a new historical replay mode that lets players replay any season between 1871 and 2009.
Other new features include an improved first-year player draft, control over base runners during the game, an enhanced fielding engine with new stats, advanced statistics tracking, team owners with unique personalities, new screens, such player comparisons and an improved league standings screen, and more. OOTP 11 also offers three different skins and the ability to create and export baseball cards for players.
OOTP lets players take full control of their teams as they draft players, make trades, sign players off the waiver wire, scout players, sign free agents, manage their payroll, and more. On game day, they set their starting lineups, decide when to pull pitchers or insert pinch-hitters, and make strategy decisions ranging from stealing a base to positioning fielders.
Preorder pricing, which is US$24.99, is available through February 21. From February 22 through the release day in April, the game will cost $29.99, and the launch price will be $39.99. System requirements call for a Mac OS X verson 10.3.9 or 10.4.4, a 1GHz G4 or 1.8GHz Intel processor, and 256MB RAM.
