PhoneTransact announced the immediate availability of Credit Card Reader for the iPhone and iPod touch on Friday. The hardware and software combo lets iPhone and iPod touch users accept and process credit card transactions.

The kit includes a credit card reader that attaches to the iPhone or iPod touch Dock connector port, along with PhoneTransact’s iMerchant Pro Credit Card Terminal app. Users can process transactions, let customers include tips, capture customer signatures, display transaction histories, process refunds and voids, and more.

Credit Card Reader requires an iPhone 3G or newer, or a second or third generation iPod touch. It is priced at US$129.95 ($99.95 through August 20) and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
