SAN FRANCISCO - Apple announced the iPhone 5, and updated models of the iPod nano and iPod touch. The company offered journalists a hands on room after the event, and The Mac Observer's Dave Hamilton was there to take a bunch of pics.
Then he got on a jet to fly back tot he East Coast and left those pics to the rest of us to process and post for your edification. Fortunately, we've done just that! Hoorah for teamwork!
Below we have 18 images offering you a better look at the new devices, along with some shots of Apple CEO Tim Cook chatting up Dave Grohl from The Foo Fighters. Apple designer-in-chief Sir Jonny Ive got his own quality time with Foo Fighting drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Sorry this is my third nitpick of the night, but those photos showing the TMO site are of the iPod touch, not iPhone 5.
dhp, don’t apologize for the nitpicks! I hate making mistakes and want to get them fixed. The unfortunate reality is that busy days like this make for more mistakes, so I personally appreciate the assist.
In any event, the caption has been corrected.
For the record. I like the new iPod Touch. I think it will be a nice little device for some web applications I’m building that don’t need a cellular radio. I wish that either (a) Android manufacturers would put in the extra 20% effort and deliver media player versions of their flagship handsets or (b) that I could install the real Firefox on an iOS device.
Good point. It is funny that the Android device makers have basically ceded the iPod Touch/Nano device market to Apple. It seems like it would be trivial to just remove the phone parts from an Android phone and you could sell it much cheaper. Odd.
