Pinterest Drops Invite, Facebook Requirements

· by · News

The social photo sharing service Pinterest opened its doors to everyone on Thursday by doing away with its requirements that users first get an invitation and use their Facebook or Twitter credentials to login. Now anyone can sign up, and can use an email address instead of their Facebook or Twitter information to create an account.

Pinterest lets users “pin” online images and other items they like and then share them with other subscribers. The service includes offers a “Pin It” button users can add to their Web browser for easily adding items to their Pinterest stream, and there’s a free iPhone app for pinning items on the go, too.

Pinterest is free, and users can sign up at the social networking service’s website.
