Pixelmator 1.6 Adds 64-bit Support

Pixelmator Team announced the immediate availability of Pixelmator 1.6 for the Mac on Tuesday. The update for the image editing application added 64-bit support for Mac OS X 10.6 users, along with support for layer groups.

Version 1.6 also added a new import tool that supports cameras, scanners, smartphones and the iPad, improved the precision of the transform tools, added support for uploading images to Facebook, Flickr and Picaso, improved printing, fixed several bugs, and more.

Pixelmator 1.6 is priced at US$59 and is available for download at the Pixelmator Web site. The update is free for version 1.x users.
