Software developer publicspace.net announced the release of A Better Finder Rename 8.23 on Wednesday. The utility allows users to create custom file names, and the new version adds expanded capabilities to the existing music file renaming feature.

It is now possible to insert data from MP3/AAC tags (such as artist, song, album, CD number, etc.) at various points of the existing file name.

A Better Finder Rename requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later to install and run and retails for $19.95. Family, Business and Enterprise licensing is also available.
