Regional Cell Carrier nTelos Joins iPhone Family

nTelos announced on Wednesday that it will be the latest carrier to offer the iPhone in the United States. The CDMA-based cell service provider offers coverage in Virginia and West Virginia, along with areas in Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina and Ohio, and will sell Apple’s combination iPod and smartphone for US$50 less than AT&T and Verizon.

nTelos will start selling the iPhone 4S on April 20 with pricing for the phone set at $149.99 for the 16GB model, $249.99 for the 32GB version, and $349.99 for the 64GB model. The iPhone 4 will also be available for $49.99.

The discount prices require a two-year service contract. Contracts are priced starting at $79.99 a month for 600 voice minutes and unlimited data and SMS.

nTelos isn’t the first regional carrier to sign on for the iPhone. C Spire began offering the iPhone 4S last November with unlimited data plans, too.

nTelos is letting customers sign up now to for their new iPhones through the company website.
