Rhapsody 2 for iPhone Adds Local Caching

| Product News

Rhapsody released Rhapsody 2.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch on Monday. The update for the streaming music app added support for caching music locally so subscribers can continue listening even when an Internet connection isn’t available.

The app supports playlist caching, but album downloading isn’t yet available. Rhapsody also appears to be the first app that supports streaming music caching for offline listening.

Rhapsody for the iPhone and iPod touch is free and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store. It requires a US$10 a month subscription to Rhapsody’s streaming music service.
