Rome: Total War Gold Edition to Ship for Mac Feb. 5

January 19th, 2010 at 2:45 PM - Games by Brad Cook

Feral Interactive on Tuesday announced that it will ship the Mac version of the strategy game Rome: Total War Gold Edition on February 5. Released under the publisher’s Feral Legends label, which emphasizes classic titles and more modest pricing, the game includes the Barbarian Invasion expansion pack.

Rome: Total War puts players in control of one of three Roman families as the Republic grows and later becomes the Roman Empire. Players use diplomacy, economic strategies, and military might to consolidate their power and influence Rome’s growth. The campaign takes them across Europe and North Africa and features historical and fictitious battles.

Barbarian Invasion leaps ahead 300 years as the Empire struggles to beat back new enemies. Players can try to keep the Empire going beyond its historical split and collapse, or they can control one of Rome’s enemies and try to bring the Empire to its knees sooner.

The game will sell for US$29.95 and will require Mac OS X version 10.5.8, a 1.6GHz Intel processor, 512MBR AM, 128MB video RAM, 5GB of hard drive space, and a DVD drive. Feral said it is working on an update that will add PowerPC processor support.

Its about time, I wonder why it took them so long to release this classic title. Ever since I got my mac ive been without it. How much extra effort does it take to make mac versions of titles.

I think its not that good, but a pretty good game. I might get it, but I might not.
