Three new games reach the App Store early this week, led by Catan: The First Island, which is based on the popular Settlers of Catan board game. Using the same rule set as its predecessor, the iPhone version challenges players to establish colonies and take control of the island. They can play against AI opponents or take on up to three others via hot seat multiplayer.
Other new titles at the App Store include the combination word game/crossword puzzle/word search Word Spin ($1.99 for a limited time) and Groovin' Blocks ($1.99), a puzzle game that first appeared on the Nintendo Wii; it features new levels and music.
