SitePoint Offers 5-for-1 Book Sale, All Proceeds go to Aussie Fire Victims

· by · News

SitePointSitePoint announced Tuesday a 5-for-1 sale on PDF versions of the company's books, with 100% of the proceeds to go to victims of the Australian bushfire victims. The books being offered include books on Photoshop, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Flash, PHP, MySQL, SQL, project management, and more.

The sale effectively offers users five books for US$29.95 -- all five books will be in PDF format, and will be downloadable. The sale is on now, and ends on Friday, February 13th, 2009. SitePoint stressed that all of the proceeds from the sale would be donated to relief efforts, and the company hopes to raise $50,000.

The Australian bushfires are normally beyond the purview of The Mac Observer, but the books being offered by SitePoint fall squarely in our camp. The fires have ravaged the Aussie state of Victoria, and more than 180 people have already been reported to have died from the fires.

I thought I’d provide a quick update.  So far we?ve raised over USD $125K/ AUD $195K with plenty of time left to grab a bargain.  For everyone that already has ? from the bottom of my heart ? thank you.

This is an outstanding effort and you should be very proud of what you’re doing. As an Australian, I do sincerely thank you for your thought and action. What you are doing is remarkable. On behalf of those poor souls who lost everything and o behalf of thousands of injured animals and wildlife, I say “cheers Mate - Thank you from Down under”

Good on you Buddies.
