SlingPlayer Mobile with 3G Hits the App Store

· by · Product News

Sling Media's Sling Mobile app with support for streaming media content via 3G data connections finally appeared on Apple's App Store on Monday. The update means iPhone users won't be limited to streaming media only over Wi-Fi networks.

The application is compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch, and can remotely control their TV and stream media from Slingbox Solo, Pro and Pro HD systems.

The ability to stream TV content over 3G was previously blocked by AT&T, but the company recently reversed its stance so expect to see more apps that have been limited to Wi-Fi networks updated with 3G support.

SlingPlayer Mobile with 3G support is priced at US$29.99 and is available at Apple's iTunes-based App Store.
