I have been unable to install this either through “Software Update” (just quits and gives me an error message), or through the downloadable installer (which gets to the stage where it asks me to select the disk on which to install the software, but then provides no Disks between which to choose - not even the internal HD).

Wow - and now I can’t delete the canon .dmg file from the trash even using a secure empty trash - it claims I don’t have permission even though I have read/write permissions and have repaired permissions etc.  This is just ludicrous !!  I’ve had more problems with 10.6 than any previous Mac OS (or even Vista for that matter) !!
