· by · Product News

Sparrow released its self-named email app for the iPhone late on Wednesday, bringing its Mac-based app to Apple’s mobile devices. The app displays email messages in a social networking style with sorting features not found in Apple’s own Mail app.

Sparrow 1.0 includes IMAP support, a unified Inbox for multiple email accounts, conversation organization, the ability to sort contacts, support for attaching photos to messages without leaving the app, and more.

Currently, Sparrow doesn’t support push notifications and can’t display Web pages in-app, although both are planned for future updates. It also doesn’t support POP email accounts.

Sparrow 1.0 is priced at US$2.99 and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
