Sponsor: MacPaw's CleanMyMac 2

I'm happy to welcome MacPaw to TMO as our sponsor this week. MacPaw are the makers of many great Mac utilities, including CleanMyMac 2, our focus for this week's sponsorship.

CleanMyMac 2 is a suite of Mac cleanup tools, some of which have analogs elsewhere, but many of which are only available here or have features that are otherwise unavailable without lots of time and Terminal knowledge. Two of my personal favorites are the the "Large & Old Files" tool as well as the "Trash Cleanup" tool. The former goes through your Mac (or specific folders) and, as you might guess, finds not only large files you might want to archive or delete, but also files you haven't modified in a long time, too. You can change what "a long time" means, too, going anywhere from a week ago to more than two years ago. You then select the files/folders you want to remove and away they go. The Trash Cleanup tool is quite handy for me, as I'm someone who has multiple volumes online all the time. Sometimes I would love to empty the trash on my external drive but not yet mess with it on my internal. With CleanMyMac 2 I can do exactly that, and I wind up using it all the time. It's quite nice to have that flexibility.

CleanMyMac 2 was the winner of one of our Editors' Choice Awards back in January at Macworld/iWorld Expo, and perhaps even more impressive than that is the fact that my Mac Geek Gab podcast co-host, John F. Braun, installed it on his Mac back then and still uses it. John is notoriously picky when it comes to installing software on his regular-use machines, and the fact that CleanMyMac 2 is still installed there is a testament to how stable this software really is for John (and for me, too).

Do MacPaw (and us!) a favor and check out CleanMyMac 2 today. They even offer a free download so you can get a feel for how it all works before you buy.
