Sponsor: Other World Computing

| Weekly Sponsorship

Our thanks go to Other World Computing for sponsoring TMO this week and helping us kick off this new program here.

OWC has been in business (and a part of our market) for 25 years, and for good reason. I've had the pleasure of knowing them for more than half of those 25 years, and I've always been impressed with the care they put into each of their products and the fact that they're true geeks over there: they understand what they're making and how to make it work best.

Our focus this week is on OWC's Data Doubler, their kit that allows you to add a second drive to your iMac, MacBook Pro or Mac Mini, and get up to 2.5TB of internal storage. With kits starting at just $39.99, you can replace the optical drive in your MacBook Pro with another SSD or a larger mechanical drive you have (and you can even get their Super Slim so you can use your removed SuperDrive as an external unit).

Check it out, and check out what else they're doing over there at OWC, especially if you haven't visited them in a while. I'm always impressed with the stuff they're doing and we hope you will be, too.

I’m going to chime in here and say that I’ve been using OWC’s data doublers in my MacBook Pros for several years, well before I joined TMO. It’s an excellent product and is relatively easy to install (the company includes all the tools and instructions you’ll need to do it yourself in about 15 minutes).

With the Data Doubler, I had a large mechanical hard drive for data storage and a high speed SSD in my Macbook Pro long before Apple made it cool to ditch the optical drive!
