Sprint May Offer Unlimited Data with iPhone 5

Sprint logoSprint may offer unlimited data plans with the iPhone 5, according to unnamed sources claiming to have insider information. Assuming the carrier does join Apple’s iPhone family when the new model ships, offering an unlimited data plan could help entice potential customers into switching away from AT&T and Verizon.

AT&T and Verizon both launched the iPhone with unlimited data plans, but eventually changed over to tiered plans with data caps.

According to Bloomberg, the unnamed sources claimed Sprint will start selling the iPhone 5 in mid-October, which falls in line with other rumors targeting an October launch for the combination iPod and smartphone.

Sprint isn’t confirming or denying rumors that it will become the third U.S. iPhone carrier with the iPhone 5 launch. The company has added fuel to the rumor itself by instructing employees to respond with “no comment” when asked about the iPhone.

Apple hasn’t commented on when the next iPhone will launch, or what features it may have.
