Star Trek D-A-C Game Headed to the Mac Next Month

Paramount Digital Entertainment and TransGaming have announced that next month will see publication of Star Trek D-A-C (Deathmatch-Assault-Conquest) for the Mac. It supports online multi-player, online co-op, and single player action between Starfleet and the Romulan Empire, with support for up to 12 starship captains.

Four game types are included: Survival, a single-player mode in which Starfleet captains must blast through waves of enemy ships while grabbing power-ups and taking care not to lose all three of their lives; Team Deathmatch, pitting teams against each other in winner-takes-all battles; Conquest, in which teams protect and conquer control points in space; and Assault, where teams take turns attacking or defending an area of space.

Each side has five types of ships available: missile cruiser, support frigate, bomber, fighter, and flagship. Each offers strengths and weaknesses as well as unique capabilities. The Starfleet flagship is, of course, the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Star Trek D-A-C will be available for download from TransGaming’s GameTree Online web site. Pricing will be US$9.99, but it’s available as a pre-order for 10 percent off. System requirements call for Mac OS X version 10.5.8, an Intel Core Duo processor, 2GB RAM, 450MB hard disk space, and an ATI X1600 or Nvidia 8600 GT video card or better.
