Starbucks to Offer Free Wi-Fi in All U.S. Stores Starting July 1st

Starbucks Inc. announced Monday that starting on July 1st, 2010, the company offer free one-click Wi-Fi service through AT&T. The company also said it would be launching an in-store service called Starbucks Digital Network that offers customers free access to some premium online paid sites, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, and more.

Starbucks Digital Networks will launch some time in the Fall of 2010. The service is being put together by a new division within the (ostensibly) coffee company that will even have its own name, Digital Ventures.

The free Wi-Fi service will be turned on in all U.S. stores on July 1st. The company has not announced similar plans for outside the U.S. for either service.
