Steve Ballmer Praises Steve Jobs as a “Visionary”

| News

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer released his own statement on the passing of Steve Jobs, calling his former foe a “visionary.” Mr. Ballmer is one of many politicians, friends and family, business associates, and former rivals who has issued such a statement, and we’re highlighting it at TMO because of the long history of competition and cooperation between the two companies, as well as the somewhat fractious public relationship these two executives have had.

Steve Ballmer’s statement, in full:

I want to express my deepest condolences at the passing of Steve Jobs, one of the founders of our industry and a true visionary. My heart goes out to his family, everyone at Apple and everyone who has been touched by his work.

Mr. Ballmer succeeded Bill Gates as CEO of Microsoft, a position he holds today.

There’s no chance that Ballmer’s statement is going to get any significant market share. No chance.
