Tapulous Says its Games Make Nearly $1 Million a Month on App Store

Tapulous, which opened its doors in early 2008 as an iPhone-only developer, says it now earns nearly US$1 million per month from the App Store, according to a Reuters report. The company currently employs 20 people and has a dozen titles on the App Store, including its popular Tap Tap Revenge series, which it says has been installed more than 20 million times.

Tapulous CEO Bart Decrem wouldn’t provide more precise revenue data, but he pointed to the ever-rising popularity of mobile gaming and noted that small developer Playfish was recently bought by Electronic Arts for $275 million. Mr. Decrem was quoted as saying: "It's going to be big and all of a sudden people are going to say, 'holy cow, where did those guys come from?'"

oh, but wait for the Android Onslaught! (AO for those in the know!) Then the iPhone will just be another wannabe brick with a lousy OS and closed restricted app store.
