Target Joins iPad 2 Reseller List

| News

Apple’s second generation iPad will be available through its own retail stores starting on March 11, and now Target is on the list of retailers promising to sell the multimedia tablet as well. Best Buy and Walmart are already on the iPad 2 reseller list, although there are still questions about which big box retailers will have inventory on launch day.

Target carries the iPad 2Target claiming iPad 2 launch day availability

The Target Web site says the retailer will have iPad 2 in its stores on March 11, although a company spokesperson told PCWorld it would have availability “on or around March 11.”

Apple unveiled the iPad 2 at a special media event in San Francisco several days ago. The new version of the tablet is thinner, weighs slightly less than the original, sports front and rear-facing digital cameras, includes an Apple-designed dual-core processor, and is available with a white or black bezel.

iPad 2 sales are set to kick off at 5PM on Friday, March 11.

I asked a sales guy in Best Buy who claims they’ll have about 3 of each iPad 2 model.  Not much, but that means they’ll have SOME inventory at least.

(He also says this isn’t showing up in their computer yet, so it’s not official info.)
