Target Tool Shows Which Stores Have iPad 2

| News

If you’re looking for an iPad 2, it turns out that Target has an online tool for finding products at the company’s fleet of retail stores that allows you to check to see if your local stores have stock of the device. Better yet, one of MacForum’s readers had access to the product ID numbers for each iPad model, allowing you to quickly check your local stores.

By clicking on the links below, you’ll be taken to a page on Target’s site allowing you to enter your zip code or city and state to do a search. There is no indication of the product you’ve searched for, as the links effectively bypass the step in the process where you enter the individual product IDs.

Once you do so, you’ll be given a page with search results for all of your local store, as you can see in the screenshot below. Note that none of the stores we checked for this article currently had stock.

That is really handy. Saved my family from driving all over the place to find out they were out of stock. There isn’t a 32Gb WiFi only to be had anywhere in Minnesota in either colour.

I wonder why Target didn’t link to the tool from their home page.

I wonder why you can’t just enter you zip code and see availability of all models at each store.  Kind of silly to select each model type and constantly get the “Out of Stock” message.  Just show me all models with “Out of Stock” at one time!!

The inventory available to the public is often off by 12-24 hours as the numbers are updated in the morning so it might not reflect new shipments or sold since morning ... you can also punch the DPCI numbers into the red scanners.

I found this site to be even more handy: http://www.ipad2locator.com
This shows a map and list of Target & Radio Shack store iPad 2 stock. Expand your search, check your relatives areas, etc.wink

(add /# and then your zip code to the URL to get directly to your area)
