· by · Product News

The U.K.’s The Telegraph newspaper is following along with Hearst Publishing and will begin offering in-app subscription support on the iPad. Subscribers will have to update to update to Telegraph for iPad 2.0, which just so happened to hit Apple’s iTunes Store on Thursday.

Users can opt for monthly auto-re-subscription at £9.99, or £1.19 a day. The cost is higher than buying just the print version, which may be a move to recoup some of Apple’s 30 percent cut from in-app subscription purchases, according to mocoNews.

Print edition subscribers will get free access to the iPad version of the newspaper, too.

The Telegraph for iPad is available as a free download at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
