The Latest iPhone Games: Underground, Tumblebugs, Paradise Monkeys

New iPhone games available at the App Store include the side-scrolling shooter Underground, the match-three puzzle game Tumblebugs, and the action game Paradise Monkeys.

In Underground, players travel through a subway system with a graffiti artist battling his inner demons, as represented by the objects that get in the way. The goal is to learn the truth behind the cursed artist's situation. Players take on more than 60 enemies with 11 different weapons; three difficulty levels are included. Pricing is US$3.99 and iPhone OS 2.0 is required.

Tumblebugs' gameplay is similar to PopCap's Zuma's Revenge and other match-three games: players fire bugs into an ever-moving chain, creating matches of three or more than disappear. If the chain reaches its destination, the game is over. Two gameplay modes, various powers, and 75 levels are included. Pricing is $2.99 and iPhone OS 2.2 is required.

If insects aren't your thing, perhaps simians are. In Paradise Monkeys, players must touch the monkeys on the screen as fast as possible while avoiding traps. Along the way, they must defeat nine different bosses and earn gold to increase their power. Each of the game's nine levels is divided into five sub-levels, with two mini-games to unlock. Pricing is $3.99 and iPhone OS 2.2.1 is required.
