Electronic Arts has announced that this fall it will introduce a new version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour playable in a browser. An EA spokesperson confirmed with The Mac Observer that the game will be compatible with any Mac running Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or higher, including PowerPC machines.
Like any other browser-based game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online won't require a disc or game installation. EA promises 3D graphics and the inclusion of such well-known golf courses as Pebble Beach, TPC Sawgrass, and St. Andrews, with new courses to be added regularly. The game will also feature tournaments, pro shop items, and the ability for players to compete with others.
Players who want to check out the game now can apply to the Beta program. More specifics were not announced, but EA did say that a multi-tiered subscription will be required to play. TMO will report on additional details as they become available.
