Toon Boom Animate 2 Adds New Animation Tools

Toon Boom Animation introduced Toon Boom Animate 2 on Tuesday. The new version of the professional animation application added several new tools along with the ability to directly import scanned drawing and SWF export support.

Version 2 added a new Smart Puppet feature for Flash animation developers. It includes lip sync support, forward and inverse kinematics, hierarchy-based rigging, symbols, pegs and morphing.

The new version also added a new coloring system with vector, gradient and texture painting tools, along with palette management support. Users can now attach camera to objects, adjust camera movement in real time, and more.

Toon Boom Animate 2 is available for pre-order for US$549.99 and includes a license for Toon Boom Animate 1. The release date for version 2 hasn't been announced yet.
