Twitter began rolling out an updated client interface for Mobile Web browsers on Thursday. The new look more closely matches the company’s native iPhone app, and the company said the interface was designed with smartphone and tablet users in mind.
Twitter’s new mobile Web browser look
“You can quickly scroll through your timeline, move between tabs and compose Tweets,” the company said in a blog post. “It’s rich — it takes advantage of capabilities that high-end device browsers offer, such as touch gestures and a large screen.”
Twitter’s new mobile look isn’t, however, available to everyone just yet. The company is phasing in the interface first for iPhone, iPod touch and Android users, and for only a “small percentage” of users at first.
Twitter’s Web interface is free to use, as is the microblogging service.
