Verizon iPhone 5 Pre-order Ship Date Slips to Sept 26

· by · News

Verizon's iPhone 5 pre-order delivery date slipped from September 21 to September 26 late Friday morning, leaving only AT&T and Sprint offering launch day deliveries of Apple's newest combination smartphone and iPod. Apple pushed out ship times for the iPhone 5 to two weeks only an hour after it began offering pre-order sales through its website early this morning.

Apple introduced the iPhone 5 during a media event on Wednesday and said pre-order sales would start on September 14. The phone will be available in stores on September 21, and for customers that bought early enough, they'll see their iPhones delivered that date, too.

The iPhone 5 includes larger Retina Display than the iPhone 4S at 4-inches instead of 3.5-inches, support for high speed LTE wireless data connections, a faster processor and longer battery life, Apple's new Lightning dock connector, and more.

AT&T and Sprint customers that don't want to wait in line next Friday to be among the first to get ahold of an iPhone 5 can still place orders online for delivery on the 21st, but it likely won't be long before their pre-order inventory sells through, too.
