Verizon Unveils iPad Commercial

Verizon is selling the iPad now, and on Monday the company introduced its first commercial showing off Apple’s multimedia tablet along with its own MiFi 3G wireless hotspot device. Verizon began selling the iPad and MiFi bundle at the end of October.

The company sells only the Wi-Fi version of the iPad since the 3G model isn’t compatible with its wireless network. Since the MiFi shares its wireless signal over Wi-Fi, however, it bridges the compatibility gap and can support up to four Wi-Fi enabled devices at the same time.

Verizon’s iPad commercial doesn’t follow the same formula as Apple’s own ads. Instead, it highlights the MiFi and shows an iPad surfing the Web indoors and outdoors away from civilization.

Verizon is selling the iPad Wi-Fi 16GB + MiFi for $629.99, iPad Wi-Fi 32GB + MiFi for $729.99, and iPad Wi-Fi 64GB + MiFi for $829.99, or just $0.99 more than an iPad with built-in 3G costs.
