VMware announced Tuesday a crossgrade promotion allowing Parallels users to move to VMware Fusion 3 for US$9.99. Parallels and Fusion are virtual machine solutions that allow Mac users to run Windows from within Mac OS X. VMware’s promotion coincides with the release of Parallels 6, which shipped today, and Parallels Mobile for iOS, which was also released today.
The crossgrade promotion carries the clever name of UnParalleled, and represents a $30 savings from the company’s normal upgrade pricing. The company is extending the offer to users of VMware Fusion 1 or 2, as well.
The full version is priced at $79.99.
