Shoppers hoping to get their hands on a Verizon-compatible iPhone 4 on February 10 have yet another location to check out now that Walmart has confirmed it will be carrying the combination iPod and smartphone on launch day.

Walmart to carry Verizon iPhone 4

The Verizon-compatible iPhone 4 will be officially available on Thursday, February 10 at Apple, Verizon, Best Buy and Walmart retail locations. Customers that don’t want to wait in stores can order theirs online at the Apple and Verizon Web sites starting today.

According to Walmart, it will carry the Verizon-compatible iPhone 4 in about 600 of its stores.

Apple designed a special version of the iPhone 4 that’s compatible with Verizon’s CDMA-based network. All other iPhone models rely on GSM cell technology, which isn’t compatible with Verizon’s network.

The new iPhone 4 is priced in line with existing models at US$199 for the 16GB version and $299 for the 32GB version.
