Yahoo! Updates iPad Web Mail Interface with HTML5

· by · News

Yahoo! has been busy updating its Web mail interfaces with HTML5 for mobile devices like the iPhone and Android-based phones, and now Apple’s iPad, too.

“If you’ve used our recently launched HTML5 mobile Web mail for iPhone you’ll feel right at home,” said Yahoo Mail product manager, Lee Parry. “We’ve kept all the things users love about our new mobile Web mail experience, while also optimizing for the gorgeous large screen of the iPad.”

The new HTML5-based Web interface supports message searching and organizing, viewing attachments inline, and can cache messages for viewing when an Internet connection isn’t available.

Taking advantage of the new iPad interface doesn’t require any software downloads. Just point Mobile Safari on your iPad to the Yahoo Mail Web site to see it in action.
