Along with its Music app, Apple has made some radical changes to iTune Match in iOS 6. While several useful features have been added to the service, several notable ones have also been removed or modified. Ben Bonaccio shows us around.
Starbucks issued Wednesday evening an updated version of its iPhone app featuring full Passbook support and integration. The company, which has long maintained its own Passbook-like mobile payment app, now allows customers to create a Pass from existing, registered cards to pay for beverages, food items and more.
Though some rumors had claimed otherwise, the iPhone 5 didn't include near field communications (NFC) capabilities. There are critics who believe this represents a missed opportunity for Apple, it's more likely the company doesn't believe that NFC is ready for prime time just yet.
Last week, Facebook debuted version 5.0 of its mobile app for iOS. The new app promised much faster performance, and a look behind the scenes finds that Facebook was able to achieve these performance gains by dropping HTML 5 and embracing Apple’s Objective-C in developing the app.
