A Developer's Thoughts on Designing for iOS 7

Jeremy Olson, founder of Tapity, has posted a fantastic blog entry on approaching iOS 7 as an app designer. Apple's shift from skeuomorphism to a flat, minimalist design means that hundreds of thousands of developers are going to have to think differently about their apps if they want them to fit with the new iOS. Mr. Olson lays out the challenges for developers, as well as the lessons to be learned about great app design. He does so by showing the evolution of Hours—a time-tracking app the company is preparing to release—and contrasts the iOS 6 design to the iOS 7 design. Mr. Olson believes that the transition to iOS 7 offers developers tremendous opportunity. We thought his piece was a very good read. Informative, interesting, well written...check it out.
