AmpliTube has long been one of my favorite amp and effects modelers (with a nod toward's the modeling in Logic Pro X). In the midst of iPhone 6s mania last week, IK Multimedia announced AmpliTube 4, a new version of the software that focuses on what the company bills as "Hyper Realistic Tone." The foundation of that tone is coming from new models, new mic controls, new rooms, new control over those rooms, and more. AmpliTube 4 will also add a MIDI-controllable 4-track looper for those who like to build live songs one layer at a time. The software is available for pre-order at $99, and will ship in October for $149. I'll be putting it through its paces—look for a review here at TMO.
